Baraboo River Canoe & Kayak Rentals offers a variety of scenic Wisconsin canoe trips along the Baraboo River Corridor, at the base of the Baraboo Bluff Range.
Enjoy a leisurely float through the beautiful countryside, or experience an exciting but enjoyable canoe trip through the rapids that flow right through the city of Baraboo!
Open 5 Days a Week
- 9am - 5pm
There will be departures each hour. Pick up times are scheduled upon departure. The last Baraboo river canoeing and kayaking group goes out at 3PM. The last pick-up is scheduled at 5PM. Later pick-up times & special canoe & kayak group trip accommodations are available upon request. Any shuttles after 5PM will incur a fee.
Best Canoeing and Kayaking in Wisconsin
In 2002, the final dam on the Baraboo River was removed, making it the longest free-flowing river in the nation to be restored to its pre-settlement condition.
Because the Baraboo river is the only undammed river in the state, it is the best place for paddling in Wisconsin.
Since first opening in 2017 we have been able to meet people from all over the U.S. and from all over the world, and we are thankful for each visitor we have had the opportunity to accommodate!

Canoe & Kayak Rental Rates
All kayak and canoe rentals include free parking, paddles, life preservers, and Baraboo river canoe rental shuttle and pick up services.
If you are 30 minutes late for your reservation, we reserve the right to rent out your canoe or kayak. Please call to let us know if you are going to be late but still coming, as we are very busy.We proudly use Old Town Canoes & Kayaks.

My wife & I enjoyed kayaking the Baraboo River. We did the 8-mile trip. Riffles and small rapids added excitement, and were easily manageable. Wildlife sightings included birds, turtles, deer, muskrat, and cows (this is Wisconsin, after all).Erica was very helpful booking the reservation.Jacob was most pleasant driving, launching, and picking us up. One of the best shuttle drivers I've had - this is often the least pleasant part of the trip.Great way to spend half a day on the water.

We loved our trip down the Baraboo and our experience with Baraboo River Canoe & Kayak Rentals! The folks there couldn't be and better and the river is simply beautiful! We paddle a lot so we booked the 6 hr route. It was raining when we put in but that never dampened our experience! What a perfect day! We'll definitely be coming back and telling family & friends!!

My girlfriend and I just finished our adventure with Baraboo river canoe and kayak rentals. We loved the kayak trip! The scenic river was so beautiful. Al, the owner, was very kind and helpful. We did the 3 hour trip with class 1 rapids. It was so much fun. Please note you may get wet on the rapids. We will be back again. Thank you.

My wife, daughter, and I had a delightful paddle from West Baraboo to the takeout at Route 113 (what they call Trip #2) It was just bouncy enough with rapids to be fun, but not enough to be scary. We saw tigers wrestling in their cage as we floated past Circus World. We also saw great blue herons and lots of turtles. Jacob and Marcus were both pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend! Would love to return and do a longer trip on the Baraboo River.

A perfect afternoon! We chose a 3-hour trip. That portion of the river wound through scenic farmland and the town of Baraboo. Lots of wildlife and some fun rapids. Highly recommend this company that made everything super easy!

My friend and I wanted to get out and enjoy the weather while on a weekend trip to Madison, so we decided to pop on up to Baraboo! Baraboo River Canoe & Kayak made it so easy! We called ahead an hour before and they were ready for us as soon as we arrived. We went on trip 4, took about 3.5 hours. It was very quiet and relaxing (but a great workout)....the scenery was nice too! The equipment was like new and in excellent condition! When we made it to the end of the trip, we called the company and they were there to pick us up 3 minutes later! Couldn't ask for more....reasonable prices and friendly folks! If you are thinking about a trip to Devil's Lake, consider the Baraboo River instead!

We had the BEST time! All of the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. They even gave us information about other surrounding attractions we might enjoy with our one year old son. The river float was gorgeous, and we saw lots of animals. The shuttle was prompt. The equipment was excellent. We had so much fun! We would definitely recommend this! Very family friendly activity! You should go!

Went for the 2 hour trip through the rapids. The rapids are very small but enough to make it a little bit more fun. The river is very slow and relaxing for the most part. Saw tons of turtles and birds. Al said the river is full of fish too especially towards end of the summer. Awesome trip. Al and Karen were great.

We were 1st time kayakers and had an excellent experience with this company today. They were timely, the kayaks were in great condition, and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. They even looked after our dog while we enjoyed the morning on the river. We can't wait to see them again next year!!

This kayak outpost is nothing short of awesome!! We wanted a trip set away from the touristy areas and this fit the bill perfectly. Several legs to choose from and nothing too hard to navigate. Jacob was the sweetest, most friendly and knowledgeable guide and he was right there to pick us up after our journey. If you're looking for a friendly, affordable and off the well-trodden path canoe/kayak outpost, you cannot go wrong here!!
